TBan's Power Rankings | Week 6

TBan's Power Rankings | Week 6

1. RedSuns

You love to see it! Here we are in the final week and the Redsuns are eyeing the first undefeated season in BSL history. Stephen had a 691 raw series which marks the highest series in BSL history, easily landing him the top bowler of the week. Stephen is the current raw score leader with Shelby just 14 pins behind. Both players will be facing off in the final week for overall pin count and likely also the raw pins record as well! What a show, you don’t want to miss these two rookies battling it out. Huy and Tracy continue to work behind the scenes, with Andrew in the hyperbolic chamber. I heard this guy bowls 2 hands now?!? In the past 6 weeks, Andrew has bowled more than he did in his life. The work and effort is starting to show at a time where it matters most. The RedSun is making it clear that they are crafted with championship material and their opponents are just part of their storyline.

2. X-Men

The powerhouse, the big 4, THE X-MEN! This has been a very impressive season for a squad that has been consistently bowled together in BSL. This may be the best looking season for TP/Isaac. However, I don’t want to jinx it, because there is still some work to do. Isaac has been consistently getting f—ed with 10 pins, and his pocket shots are not cashing out, watching all of his misfortunes even makes my blood boil! TP has been on fire even with his split pickups. There’s even videos floating around of him making bets on big splits! Steven and Tim have been strong assets to the team by not only consistently sticking to their average, but have also shown the ability to pop off when needed. There won’t be a team that can match their vibes in the playoffs. If you don’t know Captain Isaac, you don’t know what’s coming in terms of his entourage and his merch game!

3. Shy Guys

The Shy Guys are shaping out to be a surprising top contender! At this point, I’m just going to say it — I’m impressed! While the value of the 5th man dwindles away, the team has gotten closer as a team. The main star with the most upside is Anny. She has a very consistent form and can hit any pin on the lane when needed. She offers a lot of upside, which makes her a very valuable asset. Thinh is filled with confidence, just like how the Titanic is now filled with ocean water, and looks to be ready to take on any opposing top bowler. Something tells me he’ll be hitting his highest game of the season in the weeks to come. Tiff is a low risk player and Van hasn’t been able to bowl at his 100% but even now he still has time. Van is the last piece in this final playoff stretch, if we can see Van remotely return to his old form, I think even RedSun would be in trouble. The Shy Guys are proof that miracles exist in BSL!

4. StarCraft

Starcraft started off the season hot and accumulated 21 points with victories in their first 3 weeks. The team has now lost 3 in a row and have only gained 5 points in the last 3 weeks. I know it may look like this team is falling apart as we watch them drop to 3rd, but I don’t think there’s anything wrong internally, they are still intact. Shelby has a high average and would need to be shooting 230-250+ to make an impact. Though his pin count is needed for consistency, the real value comes from the other 3. Carson and Cat got them to this point, so perhaps this is Andy’s time to not only rise as a leader but to carry this team. They will be playing for bye this week but the focus is on playoffs. They’ll have 1 week left to figure it out.

5. Alliance

Momentum is vital in BSL, and for Alliance, momentum is trending back in their favor. With the speed bumps put behind them, Alliance is now coming into the final week on a 5 game win streak. Vu had a top 5 finish which is huge for someone who had a bicep injury just a couple of weeks ago. Tony had 2 huge clutch closeouts in game 2 and 3, finishing the sweeping of ONIX. It was a much needed win with the standing so close, every single point matters. Though this is the last week that it does, Alliance is filled with confidence that they can win best out of 3 against any team at the moment. This is an all around team with the right vibes. Tony continues to spearhead this team to a strong finish and hopefully a ticket to the championship round.

6. Shadow

Here we are in the final weeks. Hopefully they had their fun and realize it’s time to get serious! Even though they beat the Shy Guys, they won in the most “Shadow” way possible, by giving up the total pin count. Championships are defined in their final winning stroke and Shadow continues to leave crumbs on the table. Fortunately they have enough luck on their side that it hasn’t been completely detrimental, but if they continue on this path heading into the playoffs — they might just knock themselves out by underperforming. Let’s hope that won’t be the case. I put it on B last week and he heard me loud and clear. B needs to not only lead by example but really hold the team to every single pin!

7. Onix

[redacted]

They got smacked. 3 - 0.

8. GTA:SA

Well, how did we even get here?? What a season it has been for GTA. Vinh ended up in the cellar, Jimmy does another 250+ performance, they lose to the winless Puzzle Fighters! Maybe it was just too much to pull off on the short amount of time. The team will be back together for one final week and I hope they show out just to ruin some playoff hopes.

9. BallisLife

BallisLife is looking like the Brooklyn Nets big 3. They got nowhere and played a handful of games together. This was a tough year for Captain JayT, who has been inconsistent week-in and week-out. Like the previously mentioned Brooklyn Nets, this team is also filled to the brim with talent, but was unable to accomplish much together. Hopefully will have a better shot next season. They aren’t quite out completely, but they need a lot of happen to make the playoffs. In order to make it, they'll need to sweep their opponent, and another team needs to get swept which isn’t likely but not impossible.

10. Puzzle Fighters

Puzzle Fighter gets their first win of the season! That’s one way to remove some dirt off their name. A winless season can really kill the moral. I’m glad they were able to band together and get one out of GTA. Fuck it, go for the 2nd one too and ruin some playoff hopes! Great season puzzle fighter, hopefully you enjoyed the vibes and just going out having fun with all the friends.
