TBan's Playoff Matchups Week 2
TBan's Matchups | Playoffs Week 2
RedSuns vs Shadow (+31)
After an amazing season, the RedSuns earned a bye week for the first week of playoffs. However, instead of getting any deserved R&R, the entire RedSuns team came out to the lanes and completed some additional side quests. Despite not being in the toilet himself, Stephen entered the toilet bowl and continued to shit on the competition. Stephen went on to win the toilet bowl Congrats, jerk!
Although Shadow comes into this matchup as the underdog, they are absolutely trending in the right direction. The Shadow team isn't a particularly intelligent team, nor are they skilled and flashy. But they are a team with loads of veteran experience and puts their trust in vibes. They had their strengths on full display in the first week of the playoffs against the Shyguys. They built off each other’s momentum game 3 against the Shyguys and crushed their opponents.
For the semi-finals, the challenge I’m setting for Shadow will be to hit 710 (+31) pins as a team if they want to beat Red Sun. While the bar is high, I believe it is very attainable for this tenacious team. It doesn’t even need to be a single high scoring individual as we know this team isn’t built that way. I say a modest 190/190/180/150 will get them there. As for the RedSuns, this is the time for them to unlock all of the gates. They've been playing smart, unselfish ball all season, and just made sure to win 2 out of 3 games week in and week out. However, now that they're in the playoffs, points are completely irrelevant which means they will need to completely dial in. A high end performance from this team would be something close to 750. 450 of that will be covered by Stephen and Huy. Mr. 88 is no longer a joke, he is very well capable of a 150-170 game which would just lighten the load for Tracy. This will be a classic battle of power versus vibes, and my pick will forever be VIBESSSSS! Shadow in 3!!!
Starcraft vs X-men (+16)
The Starcraft resurgence came back just in time. When his team needed him the most, Captain Andy stepped up big with two monster games that left no more room for a third game. His team carried him through the regular season and Andy was aware of that. He knew this was his moment, booty bread or not!
On the other side, some of the X-men enjoyed their bye week, a few of them opted to stay back for some reconnaissance duty. This is a tough matchup to gauge as both team have shown their low floors, as well as their high ceilings. Starcraft is a more balanced team, and Shelby is no stranger to pressure. If the rest of the Starcraft team gives him the chance, he'll easily be able to close out the games. On the other hand, if the X-men can take the early lead, their momentum and vibes can overcome their opponents. At that point, power_overwhelming will be their only move. With Carson still no where to be found, Cat will be their weapon X, she is no stranger to the big stage and will not be intimidated — stand on business Cat! Unlike the other match the differential here will be large, it will be blow outs after blow outs. I’m going with StarCraft in 3! Sorry X-men, all love, drop me some merch and I might change my mind.
